If you throw them in the air separately (one in each hand), they will attract each other and make a loud buzzing sound as they fall.I teach physical science and have units on magnetic fields and properties of matter. There is nothing like throwing these magnets in the air next to a student who is asleep in 1st period to get their attention! They are also a good starter for discussing the properties of hematite, and obviously very magnetic mineral.
